Guide for authors
The journal does not have article processing charges (APCs) nor article submission charges.
Articles should be submitted via DM-GAA website after the author's registration. The full name and the address of the author(s), as well as a short abstract, a list of keywords, primary and secondary 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification codes should precede the text. All figures must be good quality and electronically prepared.
Manuscripts submitted to Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications should represent original work not previously published. They should not contain previously published materials and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
The article, or any part thereof, is in no way a violation of any existing original or derivative copyright. It is the authors’ responsibility to obtain appropriate written copyright permission for the reproduction of any copyrighted material, including images.
An electronic cover letter must accompany each manuscript submitted to Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications. It must state that the material for which the authors have exclusive rights is original and has not been submitted for publication elsewhere (including websites). In order to prevent the practice of ghostwriting and guest authorship, the letter must also include a statement attesting and indicating the specific contribution each author made to the manuscript. Submitting a manuscript accompanied by the cover letter is interpreted as indicating that each author participated in the preparation of the article, and have reviewed and approve the manuscript as submitted to take public responsibility for it. All sources of financial support for the work contained should be disclosed in the cover letter.
All articles submitted to Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications enter a two-step unbiased review process. Manuscript decisions are based on editorial discretion and/or input from the peer review process. Once the submitted manuscript is reviewed, the corresponding author is informed about the process’ outcome, and gets the Reviewers Report on the article in question. All data that may reveal the identity of reviewers is removed from the Report.
Reviewing Procedures
All articles submitted to Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications are sent to two independent Reviewers who are not related to the scientific Institution of the Author and who declare no conflict of interest. Reviewers are eminent professors and researchers from different countries working in different branches of general algebra. All submitted papers are peer-reviewed within approximately five months.
Manuscript decisions are based on editorial discretion and single-blind review process (the author does not know the identity of the reviewers). All data that may reveal the identity of reviewers is removed from the Reports.
If the Reviewer’s recommendation stated that the article should be corrected and reviewed again, the Editor sends the manuscript, after the Author has applied all the necessary corrections, to the same Reviewer. After the reviewing process, the Editorial board decides upon accepting the manuscript for print or rejecting it, taking into consideration the final recommendations from the Reviewers.
Language
The articles should be written in good English either American or British. Do not use both languages in one article.
Figures and layout
All figures must be of good quality and in electronic files. We recommend that you use PsTricks or prepare *.eps files. The article should have one-column layout.
Number of pages
A short original research article of not more than 6 journal pages (about 5 full pages of a typical manuscript) will be published as a NOTE.
The number of pages of the paper is not limited, however we ask for not exceeding 30 pages in dmgaa style.
References
There are few commands which simplify the process of adding the most popular bibliography items. In other cases one can use the standard command bibitem.
It is also recommended to provide doi numbers of the cited references. You can use the doi command located immediately after the given bibitem entry.
Note: we give only the doi number, without the website address, i.e. for the position http://dx.doi.org/10.7151/dmgaa.1234 we only provide the parameter \doi{10.7151/dmgaa.1234}.
Dmgaa style
Our journal has its own LaTeX style - dmgaa, please do not modify it. The style is designed in such a way that its usage is simple and the rules which should be followed are similar to the standard rules for publications in system LaTeX. In dmgaa.zip package one can find more details and instructions. You can also download single files.
